Living in the Charleston Tri-County area, the ocean isn't just a destination; it’s a lifestyle. For this project, we brought a slice of the Palm Beach coast to life through a large-scale leg sleeve. The design process focused on capturing the "rhythm" of the water—the way a wave crests and the specific texture of sea foam as it hits the sand. Being a surfer myself, I’m obsessed with getting the anatomy of the ocean right, ensuring the waves have the correct weight and flow as they wrap around the leg.
The customer experience for a piece this size is a marathon of collaboration. We worked closely to place the palm trees and horizon line in a way that elongates the leg and maintains the perspective of a vast, open beach. It was about creating a sense of "place" that the client can carry with them, regardless of how far they are from the shore. This sleeve is a tribute to the Lowcountry soul, executed with the soft gradients and sharp contrast that define the ALXNDRITE black-and-grey realism style.
